Title: Emergent visionary
Location: Austin, TX ![]()
About Me:
Just to tell you a tiny bit about myself. Historically, I've been very interested in theory. I thought I could live on theory alone, and tried to do so. Turns out that theory alone isn't very fulfilling after a while, right? So, over the past couple of years I've participated in a couple I-I courses and have been introduced to the joys of practice and the practical. The deeper I get into the practice of emergence, the more joy I find here. I also have noticed, in looking back over my journey, that the major stumbling block for me along the way was my reliance on a sense of certainty. I so wanted to know “the truth” and “the way” that I hesitated at every turn. Now that I am moving forward, I find that there are as many truths as there are perspectives, and that this realization does not diminish from any of the truths, but actually enhances my entire experience.
I also attended Don Beck's Spirals Over the Beltway this past January, and have shifted my views of SDi pretty dramatically, to the positive. I highly recommend that people experience SDi this way. I have a new appreciation for application of integal theory based on my experience.
Lastly, I'm very interested in the role of technology in the emergent manifestation of second tier competencies. My interest, however, does not appear to be reflected in the world at large just yet. I don't look to technology as a savior. The messiah isn't digital! The role of technology is in creating more efficient means of communication that will increasingly allow individuals to disabuse themselves of their notions of egoic prominence. As the web blossoms, it is increasingly possible to get the gestalt of humanity. I dedicate myself to this very amplification.
